Dear Showtuners, 

 

I am very pleased to announce that HEDWIG and the ANGRY INCH will be playing
a VERY limited engagement of 13 SHOWS ONLY @NEWTOWN before it moves to
Melbourne.

 

The Sydney Preview is 9 August, and the official Australian opening night of
Hedwig will take place on 10 August, and will play until the 20 August.

 

Tickets go on sale at 9am Monday 5 June through Ticketek call 9550 3666 or
13 2489 or click on image below to be directed to the on line sales.

 

Show plays Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and
10:30pm and Sunday at 5pm.

 

Tickets for the preview are $30 and for all other performances $45 Adult $35
Concession.

 

This is a high impact, electric rock show that will have you all searching
for the origin of love.

HEDWIG and the ANGRY INCH is a phenomenon it ran for four years
off-Broadway, is playing to packed houses all over the world, and had an
award winning cult feature film release in 2001.  Come see what all the fuss
is about for yourself!

 

Just another tale of gummi bears, flying tomatoes, a botched penectomy and
the Platonic notion that sex is the human effort to reconnect two halves of
our original whole.

 

It is a non-stop roller-coster ride in the theatre! You will laugh yourself
silly, be touched and above all inspired in Hedwig's quest for the origin of
love.

 

In the title role of Hedwig is six times ARIA-nominated Australian indi rock
icon iOTA making his theatrical debut.  And direct fro starring with The
Bell Shakespeare Company is BLAZEY BEST as Hedwig's suppressed side-kick
Yitzak.  The creative team is just as exciting with CRAIG ILOTT (Belvoir,
Old Fitz) as director, TINA HARRIS (Rocky Horror, Rent, Fame) as musical
director, ROSS COLEMAN (Dusty, Chicago, Shout!) as choreographer, design by
NICK DARE with ROSE JACKSON as costume consultant, and lighting design by
STEPHEN HAWKER.
