show I saw last night at The Statement Bar under the State Theatre. Margi
de Ferranti has been working in the professional music theatre industry for
many years, I remember her in the 80’s when she was in the ensemble of Jerry’s
Girl’s waiting for one of those diva’s to go off (she was
practically covering them all), if Debbie Byrne went down it was Margi doing those
belts. She has been in many major musicals as a leading player and support,
including Buddy, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables to name a few. I do have a
personal connection with Margi as she was one of the first shows I produced at
The Kirk in ‘It’s Delightful It’s Delicious, It’s De
Ferranti’, and we have worked together many times since, but last night I
saw a new Margi! <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:
10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>Margi’s new show is carefully
written, the musical choices are superb, such a delight to hear her voice on a
Missy Higgin’s track. Margi has rewritten some lyrics to songs to
help us get some jus on her recent Hip replacement! The Hip replacement
is the entire theme for the show, and it is with this that Ms de Ferranti has gone
through the catalogues of music and found appropriate numbers to get her caper across.
As always with Margi it is the total take it on the chin attitude to disaster and
bad luck but for one song after her Mamma Mia rave she just takes us all to her
core, she drives the lyric and strips back all showbiz artifice and tells us a
story…Her story. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

have seen in a long time this was the strongest, and had a great power of
maturity. It feels like Margi de Ferranti is finally happy to expose
herself a little more (emotionally) and engage, not just stun us all with that
awesome instrument. There really was a sense that we were watching an Oz
treasure with de Ferranti last night a very special artist in our community. Go
and see a pro do her thing in this fun little cabaret show about having her hip
replaced! <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
