Dear Showtuners, 

Hedwig has had two previews to great enthusiasm from the audience, the performances are powerhouse, combine this with the potent show that is Hedwig and the Angry Inch and you have a night on the theatre to remember.

There are five remaining performances in the Blue Mountains before it hits Sydney in August, all Saturday nights are SOLD OUT in Katoomba, but seats still available for the Friday shows it is so powerful in the intimate environment of The Clarendon.  So if you are partial to the mountains make a trip up, we will make it a journey to the mountains like never before.

Chita Rivera is NOW ON SALE she is playing seven shows from August 12 in The Studio at Sydney Opera House, this is the showbusiness event of the year.  Ms Rivera is showbusiness royalty of the highest order, she will be presenting her cabaret show CHITA RIVERA! DOWN UNDER with her trio musically directed by David Krane.  This is not to be missed be one of 300 people a night in the intimate setting of The Studio, up close to one of the biggest and best stars of the Broadway stage alive today!

For the very first time Australia has the opportunity of experiencing the amazing magical power of CHITA RIVERA, live, in her intimate cabaret performance at The Studio at Sydney Opera House. Winner of two Tony Awards (Kiss of the Spider Woman; The Rink) and seven additional Tony nominations, Chita is best known for creating the legendary roles of Anita in the original Broadway and London productions of West Side Story and Velma in the original Broadway production of Chicago. She has worked with such talents as Bob Fosse, Judy Garland, Jerome Robbins, Liza Minnelli, Gwen Verdon, Sammy Davis Jr., Dick Van Dyke, Elaine Stritch, and many more. 

CHITA recently starred on Broadway in CHITA RIVERA: THE DANCER'S LIFE, a dazzling new musical celebrating her astonishing career (for which she was nominated for her ninth Tony Award!), and the revival of the musical Nine with Antonio Banderas. Chita received the coveted Kennedy Center Honor in Washington, DC in December, 2002, and was the first Hispanic chosen to receive this award. Chita's first appearance (age 17) was in the chorus of Call Me Madam. Her electric performance as Anita in the Broadway premiere of West Side Story (1957) brought her stardom. Her career is highlighted by starring roles in Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Jerry's Girls and (original Broadway casts) Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Seventh Heaven and Mr. Wonderful. On tour: Born Yesterday, The Rose Tattoo, Call Me Madam, Threepenny Opera, Sweet Charity, Kiss Me Kate, Zorba, Can-Can with The Rockettes. She played Nicky in the film Sweet Charity with Shirley MacLaine and most recently appeared in the hit movie Chicago.
