Dear Showtuners, 

 

"LADIES and GENTLEMAN, whether you like it or not HEDWIG", everyone has been
gagging for the return of our goddess and she is back, with her ANGRY INCH.
Winner of a Helpmann Award, two Green Room Awards and two Sydney Critic
Awards, we are bringing our HIT production back with a BANG! 

 


In the role of HEDWIG is the ROCK powerhouse EZEKIEL OX from Melbourne, Ox
is best known for fronting the hot Melbourne band MAMMAL. No stranger to the
stage Ox studied at WAAPA in music theatre, and shortly after toured the
nation in "Mamma Mia", before deciding to follow his music dreams.  Recent
stage work includes "Shane Warne: The Musical - Workshop" and "Tartuffe" at
the Malthouse Theatre, as well as his one man show "RANT!".

 

His rock and roll band MAMMAL  have toured Australia intensively, playing
the Big Day Out, Homebake, Pyramid Rock Festival and supporting Cog,
Sebastian Bach, Karnivool and rock icons KISS.  Mammal's blistering debut
album "The Majority" is released on 30/8/08.  Mammal rose from the ashes of
FULL SCALE, Zeke's first band who were signed to Columbia Records in 2003
and toured the USA, releasing a critically acclaimed self titled record.

 

It is very exciting indeed to be bringing such an amazing energetic force to
the role, Ox is fast becoming known for his powerhouse concert appearances
and that coupled with our creative soup is going to assure all of an
exceptional night in the theatre..

 

As a special VIBE for Sydney and its affair with HEDWIG we have decided to
give Sydney a special SNEAK PEAK of the NEW HEDWIG, this will be for three
shows only at THE METRO THEATRE SYDNEY.  Tickets will sell fast so we have
opened bookings early with TICKETEK to ensure all the HEDWIG fans get in

Another awesome talent I am totally in love with, MARTIN MARTINI, is
launching his new album across the nation and is stopping in Sydney on 15
August, I include his e-flyer below. Martin will most definitely give you an
evening of terrific music and life from a bent. 

 

We have some more exciting events and shows to announce soon, it is a very
exciting period indeed. To get HEDWIG back on the boards has not been easy
and at times very emotional, but it brings great joy to my heart to think
people will continue to experience this great piece of theatre and a
production I and the team are VERY proud of.
